Artist Bio

Joanne Mazarella is an abstract painter living and working in Alexandria, Virginia. In her work she uses acrylic paint, collage, and drawing materials to create multiple layers of surface and visual depth characterized by energetic mark making, line and color.

After earning her Fine Arts Degree at George Washington University, Joanne embarked upon a 20 year career in sales of interior design products and a brief stint as a pastry chef. She is now a full time artist and painter.

She has studied painting at the Art League School, Robert Vander Zee Studio, and The Washington Studio School.
